The Best ‘Curly Girl’ Natural Hair Products
If you have hair on your head that is not perfectly straight, in line and free from the bondage of a humid day's frizz—then I’m sure you’re one of the lucky few who doesn't have to hoard hair products. If you are, like me, a curly natural or someone with seemingly unruly hair then I welcome you to the hair product hoarders club and hope you enjoy your time spent with us. 😀
More often than not, hair products are continually purchased on a rolling basis because the idea of ‘finding the perfect product’ will always be a subconscious goal we wish to reach. In my eyes, there’s nothing wrong with reaching in your pocket for the last couple cents you have when you find a new fancy hair product that boasts legitimacy—but, the most satisfying and worthy purchases are the ones made for high quality and INEXPENSIVE items.
I’ve found these products around multiple stores including Ulta, Target, Walmart, and Lush. To show you the products, I will be providing affiliate links in partnership with Amazon for the convenience of finding these recommendations on one main platform. Read My Disclosure Policy if you have any more questions about these affiliate links, and Contact Me with any further comments or concerns.
Curls: Goddess Curls Botanical Gelle
This lightweight gel is perfect for my thick curls, offering a slight amount of hold and definition straight out of the shower. I, personally, needed a product that wouldn’t make my curls feel as though I showered in hair spray, but I also wanted a hold that would keep my coils bouncy. This product does the trick, to say the least, and weighs in at a decent $7.99 from Target!
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
I’ve probably mentioned this product a million times before, whether it’s on My YouTube Channel or on social media—everyone knows that Makayla Lynn loves her some Curl Enhancing Smoothie! Not only does Shea Moisture offer products free from parabens, sulfates, and paraffin, but this product offers the BEST curl definition I’ve experienced post big chop. My coils thrive with this thick and moisturizing cream. Shea Moisture is worth the average $10 pricetag.
OGX Hydrating Coconut Oil Mist
For just under $6, you can get the best smelling coconut oil mist known to man. If you’re natural or nurture your hair with essential oils (as you should), then you can relate to my coconut oil obsession. Adding shine, strength, moisture and helping detangle out of the shower—this is a great inexpensive option for store-bought oil sprays.
Carols Daughter Edge Control Smoother
Alike Shea Moisture, Carols Daughter has every right to boast about the high quality and naturally safe products that SLAY the curls, coils, and kinks of the world. I’ve always loved the light scent of their Black Vanilla line along with the well-known Sacred Tiare scent. All-in-all, when I first used this edge controller, my life was forever changed. My stubborn frizz was put to SLEEP with this smoother and I owe my perfectly laid edges to this product that comes with an easy $8 price tag at Target.
Lush Cosmetics Retread Hair Conditioner
I saved the BEST for last. If you haven’t heard of Lush or the products that they offer, please vow that you will never walk past this store again when you're walking around the local mall…I immediately fell in love with Lush once I first learned about the natural and environmentally conscious mission they strive to serve. I love their melting oil fragrances and EVERY hair conditioner or deep conditioning treatment they offer. Stay tuned for more about Lush in a future post. You will NOT be sorry. This hearty amount comes at a steep price of $44 but is honestly the best option for high-end hair conditioners.
That is all for now but trust me when I say that my hoarding condition is not yet cured! I will more than likely come up with another 20 products my dear friends, don't worry.
