The Best Tech for Blogging and YouTube

Why You Should Invest...

If you’re interested in either blogging or YouTube, you understand the many investments that come with creating valuable content that others can genuinely enjoy.

Don’t get me wrong, we may see someone on the sideline killing the blogging game with a free site, iPhone camera, and bedsheets as backgrounds—but, more often than not, the vast majority of bloggers can’t get away with doing the same for very long.

"Investing" is one of the dirty words that many bloggers don’t want to mention to those who are entering into the realm of content creation. I truly believe that telling people they don’t need anything to start is sweet, but runs out months later when that 'newbie' gains experience and wants to grow/expand.

With that said, I will admit that starting a blog or YouTube channel does NOT take much. Just bring your creativity, ideas, and skills to the table and BOOM…You have a new site or channel.

On the other hand, months after you start, I promise you will begin to crave certain products and tech that will propel your venture forward.

(I experienced the same thing, as we all do, after six months of creating YouTube videos on my Macbook’s camera—ultimately leading to the purchase of my first Nikon DSLR).

Investing in your blog or YouTube channel is an investment in YOURSELF. #JustDoIt Share on X

I’ve attached a video of my recent video documenting each product that I’ve recently invested in for creating blog posts, photography-wise, and filming YouTube videos. (Check out my Channel here if you haven't already!)

Aside from the tech I mentioned in the video below, don’t forget about my FREE Resources page FILLED with websites, services, and products that I use and love for both blogging, college, and YouTube.

Quick Tip: Check below the video for links to each product I mentioned.

Products Mentioned

  1.  Sony Alpha A6000 : Definitely my favorite camera during this current season of my life. It films high-quality 1080p videos and has a few amazing features that improve depth-of-field and aperture for more vibrant photos!
  2.  Neewer 18-Inch Dimmable Ring Light : This ring light has saved my life while living in a small college dorm room for the last year. It is half the price of a Diva Light (over $300!) and fills my space with an even amount of light on overcast days when I planned to film. (Again, a total lifesaver).
  3.  Aputure LED 'on camera' Block Light : This light was main light source (other than from a window) when I first started my channel in August of 2015. This is perfect for those that aren't interested in investing over $100, but still want to make quality content year-round.
  4. Wasabi Rechargeable (Backup) Batteries Set (Search for your camera brand separately) : No need to explain how handy having rechargeable backup batteries are for a YouTuber / photographer!
  5. WD Passport (1TB) External Hard Drive : Again, no need to explain what a backup external hard drive can do for your life. (Whether as a blogger or student...These are more than necessary).
  6. iPad Bluetooth Keyboard : This awesome gift from my sister has helped me travel MORE to finish my work without having to lug around my laptop and bulky charger.

Make sure to share this post if you enjoyed it and comment below some of YOUR favorite tech products or services!
