My Minimalistic Boho Room Tour
Hola, mi gente. I think it's past the necessary window to share my take on a minimalistic boho bedroom, with a video tour on my youtube and a blog post sharing some furniture/decor links.
I say it's past the necessary window because I have moved, once again! No worries, though. If you feel confused, as I am at this moment, you can watch my recent video explaining the move and my new dream position at the University of Texas at Austin (#hookem).
Without further ado, I hope you all enjoy the video and/or picture tour. Although some links could not be found, next level 'dupes' should've been added in its place for your shopping pleasure (why am I so formal today?). Make sure to comment below your tips and tricks if you, too, enjoy this 'minimalistic boho' interior design style (I could use all the help I can get for my next pending move)!ย
the bed and nightstand
First up is the bed, the inevitable feature of the room. I've never been one for extravagance and glitter, but this Moroccan Wedding Quilt from Target takes me OUT every time I open my door. It's just enough opulence to fit in with the Embroidered Lumbar Pillow that I snatched during Target's home sale for the 2018 holiday season. The two Faux Fur Throw Pillows add that 'boho' vibe, with two more ugly sleeping pillows tucked behind (I still have to keep it functional, friends). The nightstand is a part of my favorite minimalistic metal frame line at Target, the Glasglow C Table. Perched on top is this gorgeous industrial Gold Table Lamp from Target, with an oversized vintage bulb to cast that perfect warm glow. (I know, I know. It's a gosh-darn Target showroom).ย
the little details
Next, the minor details that I praise each and every time I see them. To me, minimalism isn't the absence of objects but, rather, the presence of beautifully cherished 'things.' Setting the tone as you walk in is my beloved Glasglow Console Table that completes the black metal "theme." On top are these cute marble pieces that can actually be found in the bath and kitchen aisles at Target, one a Marble Soap Dish and the other a Marble Dip Bowl. Clever, isn't it? Many candles are plucked from the depths of Ross, TJ Maxx, and HomeGoods, but my favorite is the Coconut Sands from, you guessed it, Target. (Would you believe me if I said this wasn't sponsored?) Behind the marble dishes are simple leaning Poster Frames shown-off in the youtube video, with gorgeous prints from Desenio. Lastly, this Wooden Candle Holder set brings in my boho vibes to life, alongside my beautiful, yet functional, journal from Grit and Virtue.
the bookshelf, plants, and pouf
Buckle up for one wild ride. This side of my room has the most usable space, and ultimately became the star of the show with quite a few areas to stare at. Kicking things off is the real star and classic home staple, my IKEA Shelf Unit (used as a bookshelf). Within the bookshelf are books I've acquired over time, one being a leather Jesus Calling Devotional I refuse to give up. There are a couple picture frames, one a Scratched Bone Frame from Target, and the other, glittery moment, from Kirkland's. I made sure to place some faux greenery to add color (one day I'll adopt plant children), and set a #bosses decor piece on top of some books, snatched from HomeGoods. A few other favorite additions were these Agate Bookends and my Himalayan Pink Salt Lamp.
Next to the bookshelf, on the left, is this opulent, yet simple, IKEA NYMO White Lampshade, hanging over a Hobby Lobby Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree. The Mid-Century Modern Pot was also found in Hobby during their quarterly plant sale. To the right of the bookshelf is this functional Gold Wire Wall Grid, showing off my ride-or-die's, and a cute Lory Pouf I fell in love with from Target. Whew, is that it?! (We won't mention that five-dollar mirror hanging around like she owns the place. She is a guest, not a roommate).
Well, it looks like that might be all I have for you today! I'm excited to move, again, to a new city (watch my life update to find out) and start fresh. I'm still very much into the minimalistic boho vibe, but some modernity might make its way into some rooms.
