Dorm Room Essentials Checklist Bundle
It’s about that time! Time for the backpacks to start holding the weight of heavy $300 books and notebooks inhabited by scribbles and daydreamed-doodles.
When I was a freshman in college, the nervousness I felt for the unknown overpowered my excitement ten-fold, but, at the end of the day, I couldn't be more ready to begin the new chapter I longed for since my junior year in high school.
To be honest, I was worried that I would be stuck in the dark about the necessary supplies and resources to take advantage of in order to begin the semester as smoothly as possible. Thankfully, I was a Pinterest-aholic at that time and pinned my life away searching and saving different lists to prepare for the official move into the dorm I would soon consider my safe-haven.

Sidenote: For my sophomore year I decided to stay in a student apartment, but, with the many changes going on for this next semester, I will be experiencing #DormLife once again for my junior year! (If you are subscribed to My YouTube Channel, then you would know that I am transferring to my favorite metropolitan area to continue my education). Even though it sounds like I’m taking a hit, #DormLife is surprisingly not as bad as it sounds. The excitement of being forced to interact with others in one building can help rather than hinder, and assist with meeting new friends rather than nurturing the introvert that is inside many of us.
#DormLife is honestly NOT as bad as it seems! Here's why: Share on X
Well, because I know how much help I needed with preparing for #DormLife, I have decided to create my OWN Dorm Room Essentials Checklist Bundle! These are lists of things that I actually used, rather than bought and left to collect dust, and things that I believe are essential to incoming freshmen.
This bundle is 100% FREE and yours to use on any device you own for future reference when you’re shopping and stocking your soon-to-be home away from home. All I ask with these checklists is that you SHARE them to your hearts content, with family and friends that are experiencing the same life change, and tag me on any social media that you decide to share these lists.
Tag me on Twitter @themakaylalynn if you have any questions about #DormLife and want to pick my brain. After staying in both a dorm room and student apartment, I would like to say that I know a thing or two about moving in and out of student spaces. Aside from Twitter, if you post a picture on Instagram with YOUR Dorm Essentials and tag me @themakaylalynn with the hashtag #DormLife, I would LOVE to shout you out for getting yourself ready for this new chapter!
