How to Stay Fresh During A Full Day on Campus • #CollegePrep

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Summer’s Eve® and Her Campus Media. All words and opinions are my own!

With back-to-school season in full-force, it’s time we get our bag-packing skills in check for these soon-to-be long days and fun nights. With a full day of classes, meetings, and the occasional late-night library turn-up, the “pack whatever you see on your desk and leave” days are over.

Let’s be real. ..Who wants to make frequent trips back to their room or live without the essentials you need to be ready for anything college throws your way? Today, we’re talking about what to pack for a full day on campus so you can stay fresh, prepared, and ready for the unknown.

Cleansing Products

Staying fresh, for me, doesn’t always mean spritzing some flower-overload body mist wheneverI feel it’s needed. To stay fresh, I need to feel fresh and know that I’m prepared for the realities of being a woman (*sigh*).

I was recently sent the Simply Coconut Water line from Summer’s Eve® and have had the pleasure of testing out what are now new members of my “purse essentials” family.

Although I love testing out products, I choose to stay mindful of the body products I use on a daily basis. With a gentle foaming wash, cleansing washes, and wipes free from dyes, parabens, and alcohol—I felt my best using this Simply by Summer's Eve® line that is balanced for a woman’s pH.

These Simply coconut water wipes are extremely easy to pop into any sized purse, clutch, or backpack sleeve. Trust me, feeling fresh “down there’ throughout a busy day is the golden key to a calm vibe.

There’s nothing like knowing that I’m fresh enough to go out for a random dinner, hit up the library, or run some errands in-between trekking across campus for classes and meetings. Then, when it’s time for me to unwind, using the Simply Lavender + Chamomile cleansing wash in the shower was exactly what I needed to slip into PJ’s and feel (and smell) revived.

I found both scents to be extremely subdued, rather than overpowering and strong. I normally can’t stand heavy scents for sensitive areas, but appreciated how truly “simple” these products really are.

Purse Essentials”

Aside from the Simply cleansing wipes I mentioned above, I genuinely can’t go without at least three types of chapstick, lip gloss, a fragrance roll, hand sanitizer, panty liners, and a small pack of baby wipes.

Lip

The chapsticks I always bring with me include one for intense moisture, one with a natural red pigment, and another option for both lip tint and scent (or taste). They’re usually all natural, since my skin is pretty sensitive, and can be used interchangeably if I want a more dramatic glossy look.

My lipgloss stash is not only impressive but helps me feel 1eady for any scenario. I have atravel-sized matte red lip, a high-shine gloss, and a few random "nude" liners to act as a lip tint.

You say “extra,” I say a prepared genius.

Fragrance

Everyone should have a travel fragrance in their purse for those moments when youdesperately need to re-apply. Although I’m not a fan of spritzing away an already “musty” smell (hey, it happens), I do think a rollerball or small bottle of your favorite scent is essential.

For me, I need to feel like I can actually smell pleasant without scaring away people who can’t stand strong perfumes. So, with that said, any kind of Vanilla or Coconut mix is my go-to for along day outside.

Body

I can’t finish out this post without mentioning my go-to “keep it fresh” secret, panty liners. Not only are they easy to replace after a couple classes or a few hours outside, but they come in avariety of sizes that includes a ‘thong’ version for those that need something slimmer.

If you’ve ever felt like you can’t win on a hot day, please consider investing in a box of Simply Summer's Eve® wipes to test them out as you use the restroom. Trust me, alongside a quick roll of your ragrance, a cleansing wipe, and some lip gloss—you’ll start to feel like a solid 10/10 no matter the weather or schedule.

For the rest of my go-to body products, I also carry hand sanitizer and baby wipes to make sure I'm prepared for whatever sneaks into my day. This way, that quick bathroom break "reset" leaves me walking back into class or towards my next destination feeling brand new.

Backpack Essentials”

Now, for me to feel like I’m prepared for a “let’s go to lunch” phone call or “library date?” text, I need to pack a solid backpack that won’t feel like actual bricks on my shoulders.

With the necessary travel makeup bag that I always recommend you pack after doing your makeup for the day (if you do your makeup in the first place), I also suggest having a few Q-Tips and cotton balls in a ziplock bag for those rare moments when they’re needed.

Here are a few other backpack essentials that are small, but handy, and are known to help me (personally) stay fresh and ready for the world:

  • extra pair of socks
  • extra set of undies
  • travel-sized face lotion
  • body lotion, of course
  • napkins (hey, why not)

I hope you all enjoyed this post! It was a pleasure to try out the cleansing washes and Simply wipes from Summer’s Eve®. I've always known this brand to be a popular choice for feminine hygiene, but trying out this Simply line for myself re-introduced this refreshing option to my product stash.

Make sure to share this post if you found it helpful, and comment below your hygiene “favorites” to help another sister out.

Prep, have an amazing day, unwind, and repeat.

As always,
Live Intentionally my friends.
